The areas Bangladesh need to improve for the 2nd test vs west Indies

Bangladesh tour of West Indies has started on 4 july. The tour has started with the test match series. This is a two match test series. Bangladesh lost the 1st match. This match was ended in only 3 days. It was not just a defeat for Bangladesh, it was a big big humiliation for them. Because they lost the match by innings and 219 runs. It is a big disappointment for Bangladesh cricket. Now they are preparing for the 2nd test which will start on 12 july. Hi this is Tanim from Frenzytitans360. Today i'm going to discuss about what are the areas Bangladesh need to improve to do well in the 2nd test.

This match was played In Antigua. Jason Holder the Indies captain won the toss and elected to ball first. The wicket was very grassy. It was a seaming pitch. The sky was overcast. So it was a great condition for fast bowling. West Indies seamers started well. They were perfect with their line and length. Also they were swinging the ball sharply. Tamim iqbal became the first victim of the Indies fast bowlers. After that one by one Bangladeshi batsman came and gone. They just could not handle the fast bowling of West Indies. Specially kemar Roach was absolutely outstanding. He bowled brilliantly with perfect line and length. He was also swinging the ball. Bangladeshi batsmen did not know how to play him. He took 5 wickets. So he really broke the batting backbone of Bangladesh. In the end they got all out for mere 43 runs. This is their lowest ever total in test match cricket. Then West Indies scored 406 runs in their 1st innings. After that Bangladesh scored 144 runs in 2nd innings. So it was absolutely an one sided match. Now let's see what are the areas Bangladesh need to improve for the 2nd test.

Bangladesh don't often play in grassy wickets. So they are not used to play in seaming conditions. But nobody imagined that they would struggle so much. Getting all out for 43 runs was a huge disappointing performance. All the batsman were very poor with the bat in hand. Only Liton Das reached two figure mark. The senior batsmen also failed to score runs. And this is one of the biggest reasons of their downfall. Tamim, Shakib, Mushi, Mahmudullah none of them were able to perform. But if Bangladesh want to get positive result in the 2nd test then the senior batmen must score runs. They need to play big innings. West Indies fast bowlers bowled really well. It is their credit that they bowled Bangladesh out for 43 runs. But the Bangladeshi batsman were not so good. Their technique and defense were not so solid. They were not good in living the ball. They were caught in two minds weather to leave or play. But in this kind of wickets the batsmen can't do that. They need to be perfect with their decision making. Also their footwork needs to be perfect. It is quite assuming that the wicket of the 2nd test is gonna be grassy again. If that's the case then Bangladesh need to have a proper game plan of how to play in this kind of wicket. The batsmen need to spend time as much as possible in the wicket. By doing that they will get settle down and feel comfortable. They also need to score runs from the loose deliveries. Overall the batsmen have to be patient. Also they should left the balls of outside of off stump. There is no need play those balls. If they can do these things then the batsmen will be able to counter the dangerous bowling attack of West Indies.

Bangladesh took 3 seamers in the playing xi for the 1st test. And this was not the correct decision. Because in test match Bangladesh's main bowling attack is the spin attack. Yes, the wicket was fast bowling friendly but still they rely heavily on the spinners. Also the spinners took 6 wickets in the first test. That's why Taijul Islam needs to be included in the playing xi for the 2nd test. If they include him then Kamrul or Rubel one of them must be dropped. Abu jayed will definitely play as he took 3 wickets on debut. If Taijul plays then it will give balance to the bowling attack. He's a very good left arm spin bowler. His inclusion in the team will give support to the other to spinners Shakib and Mehedi. Also Taijul has a 5 wicket haul when the last time Bangladesh visited West Indies. So if Bangladesh want to do well he should definitely play. This might be the only change for the 2nd test. We saw that all the Bangladeshi batsmen failed. But one batsmen really caught the eye of the Bangladeshi cricket lovers. And he is Nurul Hasan. He really batted well in the 2nd innings. He's innings of 64 runs is a big lesson for the other batsmen. He showed that how to play in this wicket. So this is a good positive thing for Bangladesh. If Nurul can make runs then the other batsmen can also do well.

Bangladesh are very determined to fight back strongly in the 2nd test. Many people and cricket experts are criticizing them. Some of them are also making fun. Players are very aware of that. They really need to make a positive result in the 2nd test. After the test series they will play odi and T20 series. So if they do well in the 2nd test then they'll get the confidence for the odi and T20 series. The players are now in tremendous pressure. But this situation is not new to them. Many times they have been in this kind of situation. They have also overcome this kind of situations many times. And this time also it is quite the same. If Bangladesh can execute their proper game plan in the match then it'll be possible for them to win the 2nd test.
