Half life 2 PREVIEW

Half life 2 is regarded as one of the greatest games of all time. Half life 2 centers on gordon freeman. Who was the main protagonist in first game. I don’t want spoil story for you guys. So I won’t say anymore.

 The music of this game is unique. It’s not like your typical game music. It plays in certain sequences. I like this implementation because it’s adds to the enjoyment of the player. The shooting is solid it’s nothing special really.

 But the magic of this game from it’s level design and a.i. the levels are bit non linear. The levels facilitates player choice to an extent. The enjoyment of the game is really how you use the levels and the weapons to defeat the ai.

Unlike most triple a games half life changes up it’s pacing constantly. It throws you new challenges on a regular basis. The developers didn’t reuse content. Each level has a distinct theme and feeling.

 The story telling of half life is great. It has no cut scenes. Moreover it immerses the player. The standout the weapon of this game is the gravity gun. There is so many possibilities to use this gun to it’s fullest potential. The art style of is great. It really encapsulates the feeling of oppression.  

  The physics of half life is amazing. The developers really used the physics fullest potential. Half life 2 has many physics based which are fairly easy.

 Like many  games half life 2 has it’s demerits. The canal chapter drags bit to long. The control of the buggy is wonky. The story ends on a cliff hanger. The enemy variety is a lot less then the 1^st game.

 Inspite of all this half life 2 is really of the great games in my book. Few games can come to the level of brilliance of this game. Modern games  can’t even come close to this.  This game is the prime example that single-player games will always be king.
