ANTEC P110 Luce Casing Review
This Case Is A new Arrival In Bangladesh, After Being Announced back in CES 2017.Its Priced At 7500BDT By its Importer Star Tech & Engineering LTD, Placing it in direct competition with some other mid range Tempered Glass Cases like the Phanteks Eclipse P400 and So on, putting it in some really tough rivalry. In this situation, if you want to know how good this antec case stacks up, then please read the whole review 😉.
Disclaimer -This is an completely honest review. I bought the casing with my own money, and I will write the things I experienced and what I think about it. If its not according to your taste, you may want to try this casing by yourself and make your own judgement 😊
1.Design & Build Quality: This Case Follows an attractive yet minimalistic looking design. It has 0.8mm Thick Anodized aluminum with Brushed Texture On the Front and the rest of the case is made out of 0.8mm to 1mm Thick Steel And ABS Plastic, Making it extremely Sturdy and well built. I have to say the build quality of this case is extremely Good and it is indeed Much better than the older Antec cases that I have laid my hands on so far. All I can Say that You wont be disappointed by its build quality and it will look really good depending on your build, Thanks to that awesome 4mm Thick Tempered Glass which is Slightly Tinted and secured with 4 Screws which antec verifies As their “Signature Thumbscrews”. Another Thing that really stand out to me was that the back panel mechanism isn’t the slide-off thing like most other cases, Instead, it uses Similar approach to the tempered glass side panel and uses 4 thumbscrews to secure it to the back, Which in my opinion is really Convenient and useful compared to that slide mechanism. Another thing to complement the Tempered Glass in its Beauty would be the RGB Implementation on the Antec Logo and the Power Button Making it look Really Classy. The White LED powered Antec LOGO in the PSU Shroud is Beautiful Too, But I wish that was also RGB Implemented ☹
The Throwbacks in this department will be that the case has A nature of collecting lots of fingerprints. You literally have to Clean The case with some micro fiber Cloth everytime you touch the case. Glad that its not anything permanent, It can be Swiped Off, But its irritating none the less.
The other Thing I Really Hoped For in this Casing is Color options. Unfortunately, Antec offers only 1 color variant for this case, Which is black. I would Love to see a white version of this case if antec decides to do so.
Other Than This Couple of things, I would say that this case is really good and I really liked its Build quality and The Overall Design of this Case. You can Justify the build quality just by its Weight, which is around 11.7Kgs(net)/13.6kgs(gross).
2.Features:On Paper Perhaps The most attractive thing about this case is its Features. RGB Logo, VR Ready(HDMI on front panel), Vertical GPU Support, VGA Card Holders….Come on, What else you yould Have Asked For?But you may wanna hold off a bit and Read the Things I am about to write here,Cause This Section will be Filled With Some Crucial points Which will be the deciding factor weather you will buy this case or not!
At first,Lets talk about what it says on the paper. This Case Is 518mm tall and 230mm wide. From side its length is 489mm.Its actually quite large&wide compared to some other Mid tower cases,so space might be an issue for you depending on the space you have.
The Supported Motherboard Form Factor here is ATX,Micro ATX And Mini ITX,so its just like other mid tower cases!
The front I/O includes two USB 3.0 ports,1 head phone and microphone jack, and one HDMI pass-through port for VR Users, Then power button and the switch to cycle through its lightings.
It supports Upto 3x120MM or 2x 140MM Fans Or 360MM Radiators on the front, 2x120MM or 2x140MM Fans on the top and 240 or 280MM Rads, but you may wanna watch here, cause the space might be limited by the motherboard clearance,Cause the max supported RAD thickness on there is around 55MM.On the Back,it supports 1x120MM fan or Radiator&The case comes included with two 120MM fans, one in the front and one in the back!.Therefore,The cooling on this case is very good.Another Thing that’s impressive is that all of those Fans have built in magnetic Air Filter in them except the back fan,so dusts will find some real hard time entering your case.So at the same time, you can enjoy some real good airflow and less Dusts! So,The Cooling department is a huge Plus
for this casing!
If you want to use air coolers then your max cooler height will be limited to 165mm,which is plenty for popular coolers like Cooler Master 212x and Cryorig H5/H7’s But you might face a problem with large tower air coolers such as The Cryorig R1.
The thing I Wish that antec should have done here is include some kind of fan hub like its competitors cause if your motherboard doesn’t have enough fan support, you will be in for a huge trouble.
This Case Supports Upto 390mm long graphics Cards Both in its Vertical and Horizontal Positions,So Even the Longest of them will fit without any issues.Terefore,There is no problem in this department too!
Another Impressive thing about this Case is It has Loads of Drive-Bays.It supports Upto Six 3.5” Drives and Six 2.5” Drives,Which is Amazing! Unfortunately there is no support for 5.25” Drives but that is up with 2017 trend actually,so I don’t think that’s something to worry about at all!The Thing that you should be concerned about if you want to install your graphics card On a Vertical Position, you will need to remove two Drive bays,So you will have two less drive support.
Now lets talk about its RGB Implementation,as this case is heavily Marketed featuring its RGB capabilities.Unfortunately I am not that much impressed on this department,in contrast to the other ones.Firstly,it doesn’t support any kind of implementation through your motherboard,so you will be fixed with Changing through its 7 Colors with a button, which are Red,Green,Blue,Purple,Yellow,White &Neon Green.Other Than the static color options,it supports only two options which are Breathing And Flashing Through these 7 Colors.Though this case has Built in controller and two extra ports to connect your peripherals to sync-up,It Doesn’t Have any kindoff Included Strips Like the Eclipse P400,and they have the option to sync it through the motherboard.Honestly this is a big step back cause in this budget,at least they should have included one, cause buying one will throw you back around another 1750 BDT(Bitfenix Alchemy 2.0 RGB Strips 30CM).Though you can find some cheaper strips which will also sync up with the controller, but In my opinion The RGB Portion of this case is a bit step back,Its just a nice Feature to have, but not as Convenient one such as cases like the P400 Eclipse Etc. And I am not sure if there is any way make the Front logo controllable through your motherboard!
And Even though it supports vertical graphics card mounting, But, you have to keep it in mind that The PCI-E Riser Cable is not included and a good one will be pretty expensive to buy. So is this feature useful or not,its totally up to you. As I say, This Feature is nice to have, but not totally practical depending on the persons!
Overall, feature wise,It has its Ups and Downs, but at the end of the day,It Doesn’t have anything wrong. In Fact,It has one of the most convenient features of all specially if you have a large and heavy gpu like mine(Zotac AMP! Extreme GTX 1070),The VGA Card Holder ,which also acts as a Cable Management Bar(A Unique System Indeed). This is a really Good Feature and when you consider the fact that Buying a Vga Support From 3rd Party Will Cost you around 1300-1400BDT,Then you will see the point why it kinda complements the disappointments on the RGB Factor! It also has front panel HDMI port, making it Convenient for VR Headset owners! So I wont Complain about anything,Its just the fact that Some Stuffs Could be improved.
3.Building Experience:One of the Most Important Things To look For here is the Building experience.Fortunately enough,The Experience I had While Building in this Case is one of the best!
System Used To Build in this Casing-
1.Intel Core i5 7400 Processor
2.Biostar Racing B250GT3 Motherboard(Form Factor-M-ATX)
3.GeIL SUPER LUCE RGB 2x8GB RAM
4.1x Toshiba 1TB HDD & 1x WD Blue 1TB HDD
5.Zotac AMP Extreme GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 Graphics Card
6.Thermaltake SMART SE 630 Watt Semi Modular Powersupply
7.Cryorig H5 Ultimate CPU Cooler.
8.1xAntec Rainbow 7 Color Fan & 1x Biostar Racing RGB Fan (in company with 2x included stock Antec fans)
Before Talking about the Building Experience,Let me give a small summery behind the reason of choosing some of the parts here.First of all,I choosed a M-Atx or small form factor motherboard Because Usually Building with Matx Motherboards in a larger form factor casing creates a bit of challenge to route the cables properly to its destiny compared to an atx motherboard Thus,I wanted To see How easy it is to work with it.I have also Used the Large Amp extreme GPU to Check the convenience of the GPU Holder and How well it does to prevent the sagging .I have used Two 3.5” HDD at its most challenged position,at the top of the psu shroud to check out how easy it is to route cable through there.I have also Used The Cryorig H5 Cpu Cooler to Check the Air Cooler Compatibility and those fans firstly too make the build look cool and check out the routing -thing.
So,now, lets talk about the building experience. As I said,I had One of the best building experiences in this case,Because of The TONS of space behind the Motherboard area, yes I meant tons of spaces. The Space Behind the motherboard is HUGE.Therefore Even If you decide to not to do any neat-clean up cable management and a messy one,You wont experience any issues closing up the back panel. In Fact, its one of the largest space available in the space of mid range cases! Then,The Cable Management Slash GPU Holding Rail worked Really Nice too, hiding any excess cables from the main area. The included Clips also helped Really Well to Route Cables neat and cleanly without any issues at all!,Saving a lot of times and efforts in the cable management part. And it has a PSU Shroud Too,So There will be no issues to tuck the extra cables in there in case if you have an non modular psu and left over cables, too! So Far I loved Working in this Case.
One thing to look out for here,The Cutout which is just over the Psu meant for routing sata/power cables/HD audio/USB 3 Jacks,Will Get blocked up after you install the powersupply. So to avoid the inconvenience later on,you should route those cables before you install the Powersupply.
**Overall Opinions**:So,After Building in this case and Experience everything by myself,I must admit that this is without any doubt more than impressed me.Specially the build quality is unlike any antec cases I have Worked with before,Its Much more Polished and well built then those!Honestly,In this price point,Its One of the Best IF not the BEST Built case.It feels Premium To the Touch,With Zero Flex on the chassis,Making it Much More Stronger than others. So if you are looking for the case with build quality,This case is A straight go for you!
And even if you mind at that RGB offering, just look at the other features-Vertical GPU Mount,Included GPU Holder -these are one of the most unique combinations to find in this budget!Dont forget that you will also have that tempered Glass to Make your build a piece of art!
So It’s a case which hits Right Notes From Almost Every Perspective,And In fact,It Does Nothing Wrong .The Build Quality is One of the best here and it offers Some Features that is unique in this budget yet very useful and needed. The experience while building in this case is also one of the best,So Nothing To complain!Yes there is some minor things which could be improved, but After all ,Nothing is perfect, everything has its flaws!
Is it the Best Case in this budget,is it the right one for you,I will leave that for you Guys to Judge!None the Less,It is indeed one of the best Cases in this budget and A strong and worthy Competitor Not only to its budget counter parts, but also some even more expensive cases! In my side-Buying the Case was completely worth it!
That’s It for today guys.Hope you guys really liked it and this Review Will let you guys to judge if this case is worth it or not .Stay tuned With us Until Our Next One 😉
