KL Rahul's Record Making IPL Fifty

3 days ago what KL Rahul did was absolutely unbelievable. He struck the fastest fifty in the history of IPL. He scored his fifty from just 14 balls which was really astonishing. Hi this is Tanim from Frenzyweb360. Today I'm going to analyze KL rahul's brilliant fifty which he scored against Delhi Daredevil's.

It was the 2nd match of vivo IPL 2018. Kings Xi punjab's Ravichandra Ashwin won the toss and elected to bowl first. The wicket was absolutely flat and fresh. It was a really good pitch to bat on. But Delhi did not do too well with the bat. Punjab's bowler's bowled very well and tight. They kept on picking up wickets on a regular interval. In the end Delhi Daredevil's ended up scoring 166 runs with the loss of 7 wickets. On a flat pitch it was fairly easy total to chase. But still Punjab had to start well. And KL Rahul was the man to give them a really good start. His wonderful knock gave Punjab the platform to chase down 167 runs. Now let's go to the in depth analysis of KL Rahul's amazing fifty.

KL Rahul opened the batting with Mayank Agarwal. In the 4th bowl of the first Over Trent boult bowled a good length bowl on Rahul's hip and Rahul tried to play the ball in the leg side but found a leading edge and the bowl went over the fine leg boundary for a six. It was his first boundary which was a bit risky but effective. In the next bowl KL Rahul came down the pitch and played a glorious lofted cover drive through cover for four runs. And this two boundaries just gave him the confidence to keep on playing shots. Then in the next bowl Rahul played a beautiful cover drive with proper timing through cover and picked up his 2nd four. So Rahul absolutely dominated Boult in that over. In the 2nd over Shami bowled a short pitch bowl and rahul pulled the ball over the deep fine leg boundary and hit his 2nd six of the innings. In the next bowl he walked down the pitch and tried to play the bowl towards the on side. But the bowl hit the inside part of the bat but still raced away to square leg boundary for four. In the 3rd over KL Rahul scored his fifty. This over was truly amazing because he scored 24 runs from that over. It was a tremendous effort by KL Rahul. Amit Mishra came to bowl that over. Rahul came down the track in the first bowl and played a tremendous cover drive through extra cover and picked up his 4th boundary. Then in the next bowl Rahul gave himself room and hit the bowl over deep extra cover for a six. Again it was a tremendous shot. In the 3rd bowl Rahul played a wonderful slog sweep over the square leg for his 4th six of the innings. Then Mishra bowled a half tracker and Rahul pulled the towards the mid wicket for four runs. In the next bowl Rahul came down the track and played a gorgeous on drive through long on and picked up his 6th boundary. With that four he reached to his fifty from just 14 balls which is the fastest in the history of IPL. In the next over boult bowled a low full toss and Rahul tried to flick it but got a leading edge and was caught at short third man area. So finally he ended up scoring 51 runs from just 16 deliveries. He hit 4 sixes and 6 fours in his innings. His strike rate was 318.75 which is really astonishing. Because of his brilliant knock Punjab won the match by 6 wickets and 7 balls remaining.

The important thing of KL Rahul's innings was that he kept on founding gaps on a consistence base. Nobody thought that Rahul would scored a fifity from just 14 balls. He is a very elegant and hard hitting batsman. But he's not a absolute hard hitter. So scoring fifty from just 14 balls was a special effort from him. He did not hit the bowl hard. He just played proper cricketing shots with perfect timing and also found the middle part of the bat almost every time. He took the advantage of the power-play. Before him Sunil Narine was the owner of the fastest IPL fifty. He scored that fifty from 15 balls. Now KL Rahul is the owner of the fastest IPL fifty. It seems very difficult to break this record. But we all know that anything can happen in IPL. But for now KL Rahul will be remembered for a long long for his record making fifty.
